Emptying the Recycle Bin on an Empty Desktop
How do you empty the Recycle Bin when you don't have the icon on your Desktop?
When I'm using Windows I prefer to have my desktop free of any icons. It's just cleaner that way. Unfortunately, I grew up emptying the Recycle Bin by right-clicking on the Bin on the Desktop. If I remove the Bin from the Desktop, I lose that functionality.
Fortunately, there is another way to do this that is equally easy through the Explorer.
- Open Explorer
- In the Address Bar, select the Root path caret and select the Recycle Bin
- The Ribbon will show a tab called "Manage" for the Recycle Bin once it opens
- Click on Manage and then Empty Recycle Bin.
Voila!
