DB2 + APLX

Well what do you know, there are two surprises here today. Firstly, I did not know that you can get a copy of DB2 for free! That's very cool, and combine with IBM's DataStudio, there is a really excellent database out there for free, and it seamlessly integrates with some other tools that I use.

Now, if you even both to glance through my website, you will know just how interested I have been in playing with APLX. Fortunately, APLX has ODBC connections through the use of unixODBC on Linux. For a while, I could not get unixODBC to talk to my DB2 instance. However, I realized after a comment from tech support that I did not have a 32-bit version of the libpam.so library installed! Duh. Now everything works fine!

I am so happy.
